Museum of Contemporary Art of Montreal

Founded by the Quebec Government in 1964, its mission consists in promoting and conserving the contemporary art of Quebec, guaranteeing at the same time a presence of the Canadian and international contemporary art through exhibitions and numerous promotional activities.

Only institution in Canada dedicated exclusively to the contemporary art, the Museum offers a varied programming, from the presentation of its permanent collection to temporary exhibitions of work of Quebec, Canadian and international artists. The permanent Collection consists of approximately 6000 works, among them the more important it’s the work collection of Paul-Emile Borduas.

In addition, the Museum presents numerous multimedia creations, works of new dance and experimental theatre, music, video and cinema which confirms its place as diffuser of the contemporary art.
